Twice imprisoned, widely traveled, and acquainted with the leading scientific and philosophical minds of his day, Voltaire led as storied a life as the hero of his most popular work, Candide. This program, titled “Voltaire’s Candide,” recounts the story of Voltaire’s life with readings from Candide and dramatic vocal and instrumental works from Voltaire’s lifetime.
