Northwest Sinfonietta
Illsley Ball Nordstrom Recital Hall - Benaroya Hall Seattle, Washington, United States

Eric Jacobsen, conductor

To complete our season, the Sinfonietta welcomes the return of Artistic Partner Eric Jacobsen, celebrating the 100th anniversary of one of America’s most beloved composers. Bernstein’s one-act operatic masterpiece, Trouble in Tahiti, offers a social commentary on mid-century American life in the suburbs, infused with the popular music sounds of the time. Paired with this work is the original chamber instrumentation of Appalachian Spring – Copland’s most beloved composition, and a piece respected and loved by Bernstein himself.
