This semester we begin a year-long celebration of Bernstein’s 100th birthday by watching and using Bernstein’s brilliant lectures as our point of departure to explore a wide range of topics. Subjects include Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony, The Music of J. S. Bach, The Art of Conducting, Introduction to Modern Music, The World of Jazz, What is American Music?, Folk Music in the Concert Hall, A Copland Celebration and more.
