Lenny’s Revolution: Selections from Candide, Wonderful Town, Trouble in Tahiti, On the Town, Divertimento, Mass, and West Side Story

8:00 pm Friday, February 2, 2018
Philly Pops
the Kimmel Center Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States

David Charles Abell, conductor; Lisa Vroman, vocalist

The POPS joins in a citywide tribute to Leonard Bernstein in his 100th anniversary year. Bernstein revolutionized music by forever blurring the lines between classical and popular, most famously with his iconic hits West Side Story, Candide, and On the Town. David Charles Abell, Bernstein’s protégé and a Philly favorite and native son, conducts the popular Bernstein repertoire in anticipation of the soon-to-premiere exhibition at the National Museum of American Jewish History. The show features Broadway vocalists Lisa Vroman, Alli Mauzey, and Ryan Silverman — plus the 180-voice Philly POPS Festival Chorus!
